Horror films have firm place in the film industry. Therefore there have been a large handfull that have been very sucessfull, grossing millions in the cinema.

Horror films are highly sucessfull and can make millions in the cinema. One thing from the list to point out is how the films aren't all modern ones with amazing special effects and top of the range technology. Another point to make is how only one sequel appears on the list. It seem's as if people usually prefer original films rather than sequels. This could be, because sequels tend to use the ideas from the first film so the become predictable and less scary.
